Critter Encounter

Stop by our Critter Encounters for an up close meet and greet with a live animal as you learn a little about their biology and behavior. Possible critters include: snake, salamander, turtle, spiders, and hissing cockroaches. (Specific animals may include opportunities to touch). Encounters are open, walk-up experiences and are included with park admission.

Stone-Ages Survival Skills Demo

There is a direct line of human technology, from 2.3 million years ago when our earliest ancestors banged rocks to make cutting tools, to the rapid advances in our modern world.  Join survival Instructor/naturalist Bo Brown to explore the humble beginnings of the technologies that allowed our species to survive and thrive.

Foraging in the Ozarks

Join wilderness survival instructor and naturalist Bo Brown at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park for a mosey around the canyon to learn about wildflowers, edible and medicinal plants, and a bit about local archaeology. Bring binoculars if you have them, as there’s always a possibility to see beautiful songbirds and other Ozarks wildlife!
