Little Indian Lunch Ride

Head to Dogwood Canyon and saddle up for a horseback ride through Little Indian Creek. Geared toward confident beginners, intermediate and advanced riders, this journey through the woods lasts 2.5 hours. Experience side by side riding and trotting if comfortable. Along the way, we'll stop for lunch before heading back to the stables.

Foraging in the Ozarks

Join wilderness survival instructor and naturalist Bo Brown at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park for a mosey around the canyon to learn about wildflowers, edible and medicinal plants, and a bit about local archaeology. Bring binoculars if you have them, as there’s always a possibility to see beautiful songbirds and other Ozarks wildlife!

Trailside Science

Be sure to stop by our trailside activity stations while you’re out in the canyon!  The station will feature a rotation of wildlife artifacts, table top activities and information about plants and wildlife in the park.  Talk with our knowledgeable staff and learn something new about the natural wonders that call this place home.

Stone-Aged Survival Skills Demo

There is a direct line of human technology, from 2.3 million years ago when our earliest ancestors banged rocks to make cutting tools, to the rapid advances in our modern world.  Join survival Instructor/naturalist Bo Brown to explore the humble beginnings of the technologies that allowed our species to survive and thrive.
