Once inside the park, be sure to stop by our Welcome Table to say hello! Our friendly activities staff will be happy to answer questions about exploring the park, observing wildlife and what to look for while out in the canyon. Find us under the treehouse to learn what’s happening in the Nature and Conservation Center and discover fun tabletop artifacts before you set out on your adventure!

Stone-age Survival Skills

See demonstrations of flint knapping, friction fire, cordage and other tools, weapons and clothing employed by our prehistoric ancestors. These live demonstrations are complimentary.

Foraging in the Ozarks

Join us for a mosey around the canyon to learn about wildflowers, edible and medicinal plants, and a bit about local archaeology. Bring binoculars if you have them, as there’s always a possibility to see beautiful songbirds and other Ozarks wildlife!

StoryWalk® Hike:

Storywalk® is a fun, educational activity that places a children’s story (a deconstructed book, page by page) along Hickory Ridge Trail.
